Obsessed with seeing some true fall colors; I convinced B and some friends to take a road trip through Vermont last week. We decided to drive the 10+hour trek from Windsor through the night – planning to arrive at our hotel by early morning.
When the sun started to rise, we were in awe of the vibrant red, yellow and oranges surrounding us on the highway. None of us had ever seen fall colors quite like that – the colors were absolutely unreal!
After checking into our hotel – and a quick breakfast, we decided to head up to Shelburne for the afternoon. The weather was already in the high 70’s by mid morning making me reconsider all the fall sweaters I had packed. I had picked up this skirt right before our trip – the color immediately gave me fall feels and I couldn’t resist. I paired it with this oversized scarf which was perfect once the temperatures started to dip towards the evening.
On the drive to Shelburne, we passed by the cutest alpaca farm! At first, there were only three alpacas grazing in the fields; but just as we were walking back to the car, the entire herd came out of the barn! There must have been over a hundred of them; all varying in colors just like the trees in the fall foliage behind them. It was quite a sight to see!
We finally got back into the car and continued our drive. Our 1-hour drive to Shelburne ended up taking 3-hours! We would stumble upon beautiful scenery after beautiful scenery and just had to stop to capture some pictures. As we drove towards the city, we found a beautiful orchard and decided to stop for a quick snack.
A half gallon of cider and twelve cinnamon donuts later, we made our trek back to our hotel for the night.
