Happy Monday Everyone! One week into 2017 and I am still in denial that a new year has begun! I have been procrastinating on making any new year’s resolution… And to be completely honest, I feel as if I am in need of serious change and improvement. The last three years have been a whirlwind. Married and two kids later, life is a whole new level of busy.
Instead of coming up with an unrealistic laundry list of resolutions, I narrowed it down to three main areas that have been on my mind for a while.
- Choose Healthy. Let’s face it, we all get lazy and life gets busy. I’m embarrased to admit that I haven’t exercised in almost three years! Six months into being pregnant with Ellie, I gave up… Ice cream seemed much more appealing than my yoga mat. After gaining 50lbs with each pregnancy, I am determined to get back to my pre-baby size. To me, this means not only exercising regularly, but consistently making healthy food choices.
- Be a Better Wife. I have a great husband. He’s helpful, patient, selfless, easy-going and as much as I hate to admit it – I take advantage of it. Recently, I read an article on marriage and one line jumped out at me: “I berated him for doing things wrong when, in all honesty, he just wasn’t doing them my way.” It was both scary and sad how much that statement resonated with me! 2017 will definitely be a year to carve out time for reflection and relationship therapy.
- Find New Adventures. Motherhood has made turned me into a bit of a wimp. In my younger years, I was constantly on the lookout for my next adventure. Whether it be snowboarding or skydiving, learning to crochet or booking a hot air ballon ride. Sometimes I feel as if I’ve lost a bit of myself since becoming a mother and wife and it’s time to get back to being me.
Wish me luck on keeping my resolutions! Can’t wait to share everything with you.. Did you make any resolutions for 2017? I’d love to hear!
