On our second day in Vermont, we awoke to the sound of the rain – pouring rain! Our plan was to head out at sunrise and canoe at a nearby lake but with the rain coming down hard, none of us were interested in getting out of our pajamas and jumping into a canoe at the crack of dawn!
We all decided to make it a lazy morning and enjoyed a nice breakfast at our hotel instead. We stayed at this beautiful inn in Warren, VT called The Pitcher Inn. The inn is located about an hours drive from popular cities such as Burlington, Stowe and Woodstock. It was great to stay in a quieter town during our visit to avoid all the tourists that flood Vermont during the Fall season. If you’re planning a trip to Vermont, be sure to check them out. We loved our stay! The staff was amazing and their restaurant will not disappoint.
The rain eventually slowed to a light drizzle by the time we were finished breakfast and the sun even started to peak out from behind the clouds. We decided to head out before the rain started again. Since I neglected to pack a raincoat, I threw on this rust colored Patagonia fleece zip hoodie with my trusty rainboots hoping it get me through the day.
We spent the afternoon driving around taking in the sights of the area before heading back to our room for some s’mores and wine.
